מראה מראה שעל הקיר | Mirror mirror on the wall…

I don't really look at the mirror. I mean, once in the morning when I brush my teeth and once before I leave the house but that's it

I guess it's because I discovered a long time ago that what really matters is how I feel and if I feel good why ruin it and discover that I'm having a really bad hair day? Think about it, you'll see it's a great way to live

I guess because of that and because I always live in really tiny apartments, for me the mirror has become a tool of enlarging spaces and bringing more light inside

I don't know however if I could live in a house with so many mirrors like this one, because at some point I will have to see myself more than twice a day but I think that in a cold climate this is brilliant

I also love in this project that it is a super modern house and at the same time it feels like a fairy tale, I expect the Rabbit to rush in at any time announcing "I'm late to a very special date" – bumping into the Witch from Snow White and Dorothy's Tin Man at the same time

This amazing architecture is by OSKAR FABIAN, it's an apartment in Berlin and I'm really hoping to convince the owner to let me see it up-close and personal when I will visit the city someday. I love what they wrote about it

Penthouse apartment

completed 2011-Berlin

size: 400 sqm/ program: residential

During the spring of 2010 Lecarolimited was commissioned to remodel the penthouse of a German apartment building, spread over two floors, situated beside an inner-city football ground. Identifying the existing situation – large apartment, warren of partitions and closed rooms – we instead proposed a unitary object which, not boxing-off, simply shapes and shelters each different activity.
This principle ambition was developed into a new surface logic which, becoming lounge, bar and kitchen…then wall again, instead guides gently with a continuity from space to space. We projected into the design both a tradition of Loos-ian sensuality, as well as Mirror’s history of associations with myth and magic; a notion of the unnatural or sinful, where mirror feeds identities, and represents likenesses with an ever-so-slightly distorted truth.
